Making Slow Progress
And not bragging about the wordcount. I think losing that thousand words was a good thing -- I think so. The tensions are upped a little, possibly, and today Art took a few steps into her POV and gave me some unexpected characterisation -- well not unexpected exactly more that she's found some room and expanded into it.
I'm both longing for and dreading the end. There's a few more calmer POV's followed, hopefully, by the action, and redirect, and more action. I have no idea if it will work.
YOU, my friend, are 100% Canadian! You are what
Canadians are all about! (and that's about. not
a boot.) You, my friend, are AWESOME!
How Canadian Are You?

And I see more and more unquestionably stupid things going unquestioned these days... frex in a recent study psychologists disproved feminine intuition by showing pairs of photos of people smiling and asking the test groups which smile was fake. The women did less well than the men. Putting aside whether or not feminine intuition is supposed to apply to photographs or smiles... does anyone else wonder how they got genuine and faked smiles? I mean, I was taking a photo of my brother today, and once I'd got him in giggles he was faking for the camera, and looking at me and breaking into laughter, and faking, and... So what did they do to eliminate the possibility that the people faking the smile weren't genuinely smiling and the ones genuinely smiling weren't faking to get the fee? Did they kill puppy-dogs and scream 'keep smiling!'. What do they mean by a fake smile anyway?
